1-4 | The rulers and false judges are called upon to “do the right thing” before God, who stands ready to make His judgment
5-8 | The rulers and false judges walk in darkness and will die in their sins unless they “wake up”
Reflections
This is a psalm that is just as relevant to the world today as it was in the days of the psalmist. I won’t comment any further except for calling any in a leadership position or in an office to lead or execute judgment in people’s lives, to consider carefully the words of the psalmist and the closeness of God to execute judgment and uphold the destitute, needy, weak and afflicted in this present time as He has done through the ages.
Lord, help to live just lives and uphold Your world and come to the aid of those who are destitute, needy, weak and afflicted and to show Your love for man in our world today. May Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
